The President of FaceKey, Dr. Yevgeny B. Levitov, spoke to the San Antonio Chapter of the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI), July 17, 2018 about access control systems. The job of the CSI is to assist its members to bring real world solutions to the construction-building industry.
The presentation titled “How to Select and Design a Modern Access Control System” educated the members about (1) how using biometrics for identification versus the common key card prevents unauthorized access to their facility. And (2) how selection of an access control system that runs on the network will reduce the amount of labor and materials required and reduce cost as much as 35%.
The major take away was: When specifying an access control system, select a biometric access control system, include the required wring in the network system plan, and then tell your client how much money they have saved.
